Independent packets now available
Notice: Petitions and paperwork are now available at City Hall for anyone in Galva interested in running as an independent party for the following City positions listed below. Paperwork must be filed between November 16-November 23, 2026 to be able to get on the ballot for the 2027 local consolidated election. If you would rather run as the People’s Party the caucus will be held on December 7, 2026 and more information on how to participate will be made available closer to that date.
Six positions are up for election:
Mayor for a 4-year term.
Ward 1, Ward 2, and Ward 3 each have one seat for a 4-year term.
City Clerk for 4-year term.
Treasurer for a 4-year term.
Petitions are available at City Hall, 311 NW 4th Ave.
The City Hall hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can reach City Hall at 932-2555 if you have any questions.
