SUMMARY:Dan Tedesco
DESCRIPTION:Dan Tedesco Brings Raw\, Electrifying Songcraft to Bishop Hill Creative Commons \n  \nBishop Hill\, IL — Crossroads Cultural Connections proudly presents acclaimed American singer-songwriter Dan Tedesco on Sunday\, March 1st at Bishop Hill Creative Commons for an unforgettable evening of powerful songwriting and dynamic live performance. \nThe night begins at 6:00PM with an optional community potluck dinner (guests are invited to bring a dish to share)\, followed by the concert at 7:00PM. This is an all-ages show\, and a $20–30 donation is suggested. \nOriginally from the far west suburbs of Chicago\, Dan Tedesco blends the timeless songwriting traditions of The Beatles\, Bob Dylan\, Neil Young\, Bruce Springsteen\, and Tom Petty with a deep jazz background and the gritty crunch of early ’90s grunge. The result is a sound that feels both classic and contemporary—layered\, thoughtful\, and emotionally charged. \nTedesco’s records are rich collections of stories set against expansive sonic landscapes\, often exploring what he sees as the defining tension of his generation: the balance between humanity and technology. His newest album\, The Overwhelming\, is being released in an innovative format through his self-created music platform\, the DTMC (Dan Tedesco Music Channel)\, issuing one song per month. MusicInMinnesota described the platform as something that “could very well be the new groundwork for how musicians share what they create.” \nBut it’s on stage where Tedesco truly comes alive. His live performances have been described as bordering on performance art—raw\, intense\, and wholly original. One fan recently compared his show to “a one-man UFC match… him against his guitar\,” capturing the visceral energy he brings to every note. It’s a performance style that is honest\, physical\, and deeply compelling. \nOver the years\, Tedesco has toured nationally\, sharing stages with artists including Blues Traveler\, David Lindley\, Chris Shiflett (Foo Fighters)\, Chuck Prophet\, Alejandro Escovedo\, Anders Osborne\, Gin Blossoms\, Langhorne Slim\, Lucero\, Old 97’s\, and Josh Rouse. \nAudiences at Bishop Hill Creative Commons can expect an evening that is intimate yet explosive—filled with gripping melodies\, thoughtful storytelling\, and a performer who leaves everything on the stage. \nBring a dish\, bring a friend\, and experience a night of music that is as authentic as it is unforgettable. \nFor tickets and more information please visit xroadscc.org.

SUMMARY:Kris Lager Brings Soul\, Blues & “Celebrate Life” Energy to Bishop Hill
DESCRIPTION:Crossroads Cultural Connections proudly presents Nebraska-based blues and soul powerhouse Kris Lager on Sunday\, March 8th at Bishop Hill Creative Commons for an evening of high-energy music\, heartfelt songwriting\, and pure communal joy. \nThe night begins at 6:00PM with an optional community potluck dinner (bring a dish to share if you’d like to join)\, followed by the concert at 7:00PM. This is an all-ages show\, and a $20–30 donation is suggested. \nFor more than two decades\, Kris Lager—a Lincoln native now rooted in Omaha—has crisscrossed the country as a true musical journeyman. Blending blues\, soul\, rock\, and roots music into a sound that is entirely his own\, Lager delivers performances that are less like concerts and more like communal celebrations. Expect dancing\, clapping\, “soul clappin’\,” and stage-shaking charisma. \nAt the core of his music is his “Celebrate Life” mantra—a spirited commitment to uplifting audiences through honest\, soul-stirring lyrics and deeply rooted grooves. Rather than climbing the traditional music industry ladder\, Lager has built his following the old-fashioned way: relentless touring\, authentic songwriting\, and genuine connection with listeners. \nPraised by peers and industry veterans alike\, Grammy-winning producer Jim Gaines—who mixed two of Lager’s records—called him “a great voice with great songs.” Blues Rock Review describes him simply as “a fantastic songwriter\,” while Paste Magazine notes that his music delivers “the kind of toe-tapping rhythm that sometimes you just need to make it through a day.” \nLager’s songwriting reach continues to expand. He recently co-penned the roots-infused track “Tumbleweed” with Andy Frasco and legendary swamp-rock singer J.J. Grey—further testament to his versatility and respect within the music community. \nAudiences at Bishop Hill Creative Commons can expect a night of infectious rhythm\, honest storytelling\, and the unmistakable energy of an artist who truly loves what he does. \nBishop Hill Creative Commons is operated by Crossroads Cultural Connections\, a nonprofit dedicated to building stronger rural communities through live music and the arts. \nPlan your next Kris Lager show\, bring a friend (and maybe a side dish)\, and witness the magic of a seasoned performer who channels the human spirit through song and dance. \nFor more information please visit xroadscc.org.

Those who wish to participate are encouraged to bring a dish to share\, though it is not required. Together they create a dynamic and expressive sound that highlights the artistry of each musician while honoring centuries-old traditions. \nGrosse Isle has performed widely across Canada\, the United States\, and internationally\, with notable appearances at Celtic Connections in Scotland (2022 & 2023)\, WOMEX in Portugal (2021)\, Milwaukee Irish Fest (2023)\, and the Canada Games (2022). \nTheir recordings have earned widespread praise from folk and traditional music critics around the world. Their debut album Un Canadien Errant (2016) was described as “splendid stuff” by Songlines magazine (UK). Their follow-up Portraits (2018) was called “one of the downright most enjoyable albums to have come this way for a considerable time” by Froots magazine (UK). Their 2021 release The Bonesetter was hailed as “nothing short of fantastic” by Roots Music Canada. The trio has also received numerous nominations from the Canadian Folk Music Awards\, ADISQ\, and GAMIQ. \nPresented by Crossroads Cultural Connections\, the concert continues the organization’s mission of bringing world-class music and cultural experiences to the region. \nThe event is open to all ages.
