SUMMARY:The Riverside
DESCRIPTION:The Riverside will bring its warm\, engaging blend of folk music\, rich harmonies and intimate storytelling to Ca d’Zan House Concerts in Cambridge on Tuesday\, September 15. Presented by Crossroads Cultural Connections\, the all-ages concert will begin at 7 p.m.\, following an optional community potluck dinner at 6 p.m. Bishop Hill Creative Commons will serve as the rain location. \nThe Riverside originated in Southern California in 2012\, when founding member Jacob Jeanson formed the group while attending Westmont College. The band first came together with the goal of entering Santa Barbara’s battle of the bands. Their energetic\, foot-stomping folk sound won the competition and provided the funding to record their first album. \nIn the years since\, Jeanson has continued developing a thoughtful songwriting style marked by warmth\, nostalgia and a sense of open-road adventure. Along the way\, he was joined by longtime friends and bandmates Kristen Posey and Chase Fierro\, whose musicianship and chemistry helped shape The Riverside into the trio it is today. \nThe band has toured theaters\, venues and festivals throughout the United States\, but has found a special connection with audiences through intimate house concerts in backyards and living rooms. That setting is a natural fit for The Riverside’s organic style\, which often finds the musicians gathered around a single old-fashioned microphone\, blending voices and instruments into a seamless and inviting sound. \nThe group also frequently collaborates with musical friends while on tour\, allowing each performance to take on a unique character depending on the location\, lineup and atmosphere of the evening. Their goal is to create something that feels personal\, spontaneous and genuinely connected to the audience. \nSince forming\, The Riverside has released eight independently produced albums along with multiple EPs\, with additional music continuing to take shape. \nGuests are invited to arrive at 6 p.m. for the optional potluck dinner and may bring a dish to share. SUMMARY:Skye Consort & Emma Björling
DESCRIPTION:International ensemble Skye Consort & Emma Björling will bring an adventurous blend of Scandinavian\, Celtic and French-Canadian traditional music to Ca d’Zan House Concerts in Cambridge on Sunday\, September 27. \nPresented by Crossroads Cultural Connections\, the all-ages evening will begin with an optional potluck dinner at 6 p.m.\, followed by the concert at 7 p.m. Guests who would like to participate in the potluck are invited to bring a dish to share. \nFeaturing acclaimed musicians from Canada and Sweden\, Skye Consort & Emma Björling draws from the traditional music of Scandinavia\, Ireland\, the British Isles and French Canada while adding original compositions and contemporary chamber-folk arrangements. \nThe group’s distinctive instrumentation includes voices\, fiddle\, nyckelharpa\, cello\, bouzouki\, banjo and percussion. Together\, the musicians move between whirling Scandinavian polskas\, lively reels\, passionate love songs\, breathtaking hymns and original works\, creating music firmly connected to tradition while sounding entirely their own. \nThe collaboration began almost by accident in Montréal in 2017. Skye Consort and Swedish vocalist Emma Björling met while working together on a project with La Nef. As Björling prepared to return home\, a major storm in Iceland canceled flights between North America and Europe. The musicians suddenly found themselves with several unexpected days together and spent the time listening to tunes\, jamming and joking about starting a band. By the time Björling was finally able to return to Sweden\, the band was no longer a joke—it had become a reality. \nBjörling is an award-winning Swedish singer\, composer and arranger who performs with renowned Scandinavian ensembles including Kongero and Lyy. She has toured internationally\, teaches at Framnäs College and leads workshops around the world. \nSeán Dagher contributes lead vocals\, Irish bouzouki and banjo. An accomplished performer\, arranger and composer\, Dagher is co-artistic director of La Nef and has contributed music to the Assassin’s Creed video game series\, including vocals familiar to fans of Black Flag. He has also performed with The Longest Johns. \nCellist and vocalist Amanda Keesmaat is a prominent member of Montréal’s early-music community who has performed and recorded with numerous acclaimed musicians and ensembles and toured throughout North America\, South America and Europe. \nFiddler and nyckelharpa player Simon Alexandre is an accomplished chamber and orchestral musician who moved to Sweden at age 17 to study the nyckelharpa. He also performs on Hardanger fiddle and is a member of the Orchestre Philharmonique du Québec. \nTogether\, the four musicians create a performance that crosses borders\, centuries and musical traditions\, combining virtuosic playing with rich vocal harmonies and a spirit of exploration. \nGuests should bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. A donation of $20 to $30 is suggested. In the event of rain\, the concert will move to Bishop Hill Creative Commons. \nPresented by Crossroads Cultural Connections\, this concert continues the organization’s mission of bringing meaningful\, high-quality live music experiences to Henry County and surrounding communities. The group will also be visiting several schools\, providing cultural experiences and live entertainment free of charge to the schools\, while in the area. \nEVENT DETAILS \nWho: Skye Consort & Emma Björling\nWhen: Sunday\, September 27\nPotluck: 6 p.m.; bring a dish to share if participating\nConcert: 7 p.m.\nWhere: Ca d’Zan House Concerts\, Cambridge\, Illinois\nRain Location: Bishop Hill Creative Commons\nAdmission: Suggested donation of $20–$30\nSeating: Bring lawn chairs or blankets\nAudience: All ages welcome

SUMMARY:Gadan to Bring High-Energy Celtic and Appalachian Fusion
DESCRIPTION:Gadan\, an international folk band blending Irish traditional music\, Celtgrass\, Appalachian roots and a distinctly Italian musical spirit\, will perform at Ca d’Zan House Concerts in Cambridge on Tuesday\, September 29. \nPresented by Crossroads Cultural Connections\, the all-ages evening will begin with an optional potluck dinner at 6 p.m.\, followed by the concert at 7 p.m. Guests who would like to participate in the potluck are invited to bring a dish to share. \nGadan brings together three seasoned Italian folk musicians from the Irish traditional and European folk scenes with acclaimed Irish tenor banjo player Enda Scahill\, founder of We Banjo 3\, and Appalachian-rooted songwriter and clawhammer banjo player Eric Long. \nThe result is a distinctive transatlantic sound driven by three banjos\, fiddle\, mandolin and guitar. With no drums\, the band relies on a relentless rhythmic pulse\, intricate string playing and strong ensemble chemistry to create a sound that is both rooted in tradition and unmistakably modern. \nFormed in 2024\, Gadan has quickly built a reputation for energetic performances and adventurous arrangements that move easily between Irish traditional music\, folk\, Celtgrass and Appalachian influences. Long\, originally from Pennsylvania and now based in San Francisco\, adds another layer of American roots tradition to the group’s already wide-ranging sound. \nOver the past several years\, Gadan has completed multiple successful U.S. tours\, performing everywhere from intimate folk venues to major Celtic festivals. SUMMARY:Nick Dittmeier Duo
DESCRIPTION:Indiana singer-songwriter and guitarist Nick Dittmeier will perform a duo show at Ca d’Zan House Concerts in Cambridge on Thursday\, October 1\, bringing a sharp\, story-driven blend of roots music\, Americana and alt-country. \nPresented by Crossroads Cultural Connections\, the all-ages evening will begin with an optional potluck dinner at 6 p.m.\, followed by the concert at 7 p.m. Guests who would like to participate in the potluck are invited to bring a dish to share. \nBased in Jeffersonville\, Indiana\, Dittmeier has spent more than a decade chronicling Midwestern lives through songs filled with grit\, humor\, empathy and a strong sense of place. His writing often focuses on working people\, small towns\, complicated families and the everyday stories that can easily be overlooked. \nA gifted guitarist as well as a songwriter\, Dittmeier has built his career the old-fashioned way: through years of touring\, writing and performing across the United States and Europe. With his band\, the Sawdusters\, he has developed a loyal following and a sound that draws from country\, rock\, blues and roots music without fitting neatly into any one category. \nHis music is grounded in narrative songwriting\, but his performances are just as much about connection. Dittmeier brings a natural\, unpretentious presence to the stage\, pairing vivid songs with the kind of storytelling and musicianship that works especially well in an intimate house-concert setting. \nHis latest release\, Apparition\, continues to expand that sound while keeping the focus on real people and lived experience. The album blends alt-country\, roots rock and darker Americana influences with the direct storytelling that has long defined his work. \nFor the Cambridge performance\, Dittmeier will appear in a duo format\, offering audiences a stripped-down and personal version of his music that places even more emphasis on the songs\, guitar work and stories behind them. \nEVENT DETAILS \nWho: Nick Dittmeier Duo\nWhen: Thursday\, October 1\nPotluck: 6 p.m.; bring a dish to share if participating\nConcert: 7 p.m.\nWhere: Ca d’Zan House Concerts\, Cambridge\, Illinois\nRain Location: Bishop Hill Creative Commons\nAdmission: Suggested donation of $20–$30\nSeating: Bring lawn chairs or blankets\nAudience: All ages welcome \nContact:\nJohn Taylor\njohn.r.taylor@gmail.com\n(309) 299-4999

Based in Huntsville\, Alabama\, the sisters blend close harmonies\, emotionally direct songwriting and an evolving indie-folk sound that moves between intimate acoustic moments and atmospheric indie rock. \nBoth are multi-instrumentalists and songwriters. Emma performs on piano\, violin\, guitar and cello\, while Bella brings bass\, keys and a strong rhythmic sense to the duo. Their songs explore love\, loss\, identity\, resilience and the difficult space between holding on and letting go. \nSharing the evening will be three members of The Rebel Eves: Grace Theisen\, Jilian Linklater and Carolyn Koebel. \nTheisen is a Kalamazoo-based blues and Americana artist whose career has included time in Nashville\, where she ran the nonprofit Songs Against Slavery. Her confessional\, deeply personal songs have earned millions of streams and led to collaborations and placements with companies and artists including Disney\, Amazon\, Netflix\, JJ Heller and Jason Gray. Since 2021\, she has lived\, traveled\, written and recorded from a van she converted with her grandfather. \nKoebel brings a wide-ranging musical background spanning percussion\, music therapy\, world music\, education and community arts. SUMMARY:Frank Viele
DESCRIPTION:Award-winning singer-songwriter Frank Viele will launch the 2026–27 indoor concert season at Bishop Hill Creative Commons on Friday\, October 16\, bringing his powerful blend of blues\, rock\, folk\, soul and Americana to Bishop Hill. \nPresented by Crossroads Cultural Connections\, the all-ages evening will begin with an optional potluck dinner at 6 p.m.\, followed by the concert at 7 p.m. Guests who would like to participate in the potluck are invited to bring a dish to share. A suggested donation of $20 to $30 will be collected. \nThe October 16 performance marks the beginning of Crossroads Cultural Connections’ indoor concert season\, which will continue at Bishop Hill Creative Commons through May 15. \nViele has built a reputation as a dynamic live performer and deeply personal songwriter\, earning multiple New England Music Awards\, including Album of the Year\, Male Performer of the Year\, Live Act of the Year and two honors for Songwriter of the Year. \nHis music is rooted in what he describes as New England blues rock\, but his sound stretches well beyond any single genre. Drawing from rock\, blues\, folk\, country and soul\, Viele pairs powerful vocals and expressive guitar work with songs that explore life\, love\, regret\, resilience and the passage of time. \nAfter years of relentless touring and recording\, the pandemic forced Viele to slow down and rethink his relationship with time and creativity. That period led to a writing and recording collaboration in Muscle Shoals\, Alabama\, with producer Jimmy Nutt\, whose credits include Jason Isbell\, American Aquarium and The Dead South\, and songwriter James LeBlanc\, whose work includes collaborations with Travis Tritt\, Will Hoge\, Tim McGraw\, Faith Hill and others. \nThat creative chapter helped produce the 2021 EP Time Is A Thief and later work that continued to earn Viele praise for his storytelling\, songwriting and vocal delivery. \nViele’s career has also been shaped by years on the road. Since releasing his first solo album in 2015\, he has played hundreds of shows and shared stages with artists including John Waite\, Jeffrey Gaines\, Lee DeWyze\, Zach Myers of Shinedown\, The Wailers\, Howie Day\, Xavier Rudd\, Ingrid Michaelson\, Tony Lucca\, Pat McGee and Blues Traveler. \nHis live performances are known for their intensity\, honesty and connection with audiences. Whether delivering a quiet\, reflective lyric or a full-throttle blues-rock moment\, Viele brings a sense of urgency and authenticity to the stage. \nGuests are invited to come early for the potluck\, stay for the show and help celebrate the start of another season of intimate live music at Bishop Hill Creative Commons. \nPresented by Crossroads Cultural Connections\, this concert continues the organization’s mission of bringing meaningful\, high-quality live music experiences to Henry County and surrounding communities. \nEVENT DETAILS \nWho: Frank Viele\nWhen: Friday\, October 16\nPotluck: 6 p.m.; bring a dish to share if participating\nConcert: 7 p.m.\nWhere: Bishop Hill Creative Commons\, Bishop Hill\, Illinois\nAdmission: Suggested donation of $20–$30\nAudience: All ages welcome\nSpecial Note: Opening concert of the indoor season\, running through May 15 \nContact:\nJohn Taylor\njohn.r.taylor@gmail.com\n(309) 299-4999

SUMMARY:Bruce Moon & The Amplifiers
DESCRIPTION:Bruce Moon & The Amplifiers will perform at Bishop Hill Creative Commons on Saturday\, October 17\, bringing an evening of original music shaped by storytelling\, social conscience and a distinctly Midwestern perspective. \nBruce Moon is a singer-songwriter\, painter\, poet\, performance artist\, art therapist and longtime educator whose work has been shaped by decades spent listening to people’s stories. The son of a single mother from a small town in Ohio\, Moon blends contemporary Midwestern sensibilities with social conscience\, humor and reflection. \nMoon spent 22 years working as an art therapist in a psychiatric hospital\, much of that time caring for children and adolescents who had experienced abuse. He was also an ordained Methodist and later spent two decades as a university professor. Those experiences continue to inform his songwriting. \n“Everybody has a story and I hope my work brings honor to the folks I have encountered\,” Moon says. He often describes his artistic philosophy by saying that a good song should comfort people who have been afflicted by the world and afflict those who have grown too comfortable. \nA concertgoer once described Moon’s performances this way: “Bruce’s songs and stories make me laugh\, let me cry\, and push me to think about my life.” \nMoon has logged decades of stage time\, from coffeehouses\, churches and college campuses to pubs\, street festivals and concert venues. He has performed in settings ranging from Galway\, Ireland\, and Seattle to Savannah\, San Antonio and Bishop Hill. \nWith The Amplifiers\, Moon brings those songs into a fuller band setting. The group features Justin Tirone on lead guitar\, violin and keyboards; Brian Rejack on bass and trombone; and Ben Wyman on percussion. The band follows a simple rule: “All original\, all the time.” \nTogether\, they create music that draws from folk\, rock\, roots and singer-songwriter traditions while remaining firmly centered on Moon’s original stories and observations. The band is also working on new material\, including a project tentatively titled Malcontents and Mutineers. \nMoon’s creative life extends well beyond the stage. He is professor emeritus of art therapy and has authored 12 books used in art therapy programs. He has also received lifetime achievement honors from both the American Art Therapy Association and the Buckeye Art Therapy Association. \nGuests are invited to come early for the potluck and stay for an evening of music that aims not only to entertain\, but also to connect\, challenge and reflect. \nPresented by Crossroads Cultural Connections\, this concert continues the organization’s mission of bringing meaningful\, high-quality live music experiences to Henry County and surrounding communities. \nEVENT DETAILS \nWho: Bruce Moon & The Amplifiers\nWhen: Saturday\, October 17\nPotluck: 6 p.m.; bring a dish to share if participating\nConcert: 7 p.m.\nWhere: Bishop Hill Creative Commons\, Bishop Hill\, Illinois\nAdmission: Suggested donation of $20–$30\nAudience: All ages welcome \nContact:\nJohn Taylor\njohn.r.taylor@gmail.com\n(309) 299-4999

DESCRIPTION:Acclaimed singer-songwriter Jess Klein will bring her powerful voice\, deeply personal storytelling and roots-driven sound to Bishop Hill Creative Commons on Sunday\, October 18. \nKlein’s music finds light\, resilience and even joy within some of life’s most difficult experiences. Her acoustic-driven songs explore love\, loss\, empowerment\, rage\, sensuality and the complicated realities of being human\, delivered with an emotional honesty that has connected with audiences around the world. \nThe New York Times has described Klein as “a songwriter with a voice of unblinking tenacity.” \nOver the course of her career\, Klein has performed everywhere from intimate listening rooms and theaters to major festivals in front of tens of thousands of people. She has toured nationally and internationally in support of Arlo Guthrie\, Josh Ritter\, Damien Dempsey\, John Fullbright and Jonathan Byrd\, and has opened for artists including Ani DiFranco\, Steve Earle and Alejandro Escovedo. \nHer performances have taken her to the Newport Folk Festival\, Winnipeg Folk Festival\, Falcon Ridge Folk Festival\, Philadelphia Folk Festival and Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival. She has also appeared on Good Morning America and NPR’s All Things Considered. \nDespite that extensive résumé\, Klein’s live shows remain remarkably intimate. With a guitar\, an expressive voice and a willingness to be emotionally vulnerable\, she creates performances that invite audiences into the stories behind the songs. \nThe Bluegrass Situation described her music as “one part grassroots social activism\, two parts alt-country guitar rock\,” capturing the combination of conscience\, songwriting and musical energy that has become a hallmark of her work. \nHer most recent album\, When We Rise\, released in 2023\, explores empowerment and the joy of overcoming adversity through a dynamic\, roots-inflected collection of songs. The album reflects a recurring thread throughout Klein’s career: an insistence on acknowledging life’s darkness without surrendering the possibility of hope. \nFor audiences who value songwriting that can challenge\, comfort and connect\, Klein’s intimate performance at Bishop Hill Creative Commons offers an opportunity to experience a veteran artist whose songs are rooted in both vulnerability and strength. \nPresented by Crossroads Cultural Connections\, this concert continues the organization’s mission of bringing meaningful\, high-quality live music experiences to Henry County and surrounding communities. \nEVENT DETAILS \nWho: Jess Klein\nWhen: Sunday\, October 18\nPotluck: 6 p.m.; bring a dish to share if participating\nConcert: 7 p.m.\nWhere: Bishop Hill Creative Commons\, Bishop Hill\, Illinois\nAdmission: Suggested donation of $20–$30\nAudience: All ages welcome \nContact:\nJohn Taylor\njohn.r.taylor@gmail.com\n(309) 299-4999

SUMMARY:Iowa Songwriter Robert Deitch
DESCRIPTION:November 1 concert offers an up-close introduction to a former Nashville staff writer and 2026 Kerrville New Folk finalist \nIowa Americana songwriter Robert Deitch will perform Sunday\, November 1\, 2026\, at Bishop Hill Creative Commons\, 309 N. Bishop Hill Street\, bringing songs shaped by small-town life and a career that began far from the stage. The concert starts at 7 p.m. Claudia Coltrain will join Deitch\, providing harmonies and instrumental support. \nDeitch was approaching 40\, attending business meetings with songs running through his head\, before he learned to play guitar. That unlikely beginning eventually led him to Nashville’s songwriting community and\, later\, to a new chapter performing the songs himself. \nHis career now includes work as a Music Row staff writer\, songs recorded by other artists including Country Music Hall of Fame member Bobby Bare\, and recognition as a 2026 Kerrville New Folk finalist. His songs draw on small-town life and the experiences people accumulate along the way: family relationships\, mistakes\, hard-earned perspective\, and the possibility of starting again. \nHis third album\, Legacy\, marks a deliberate move toward telling those stories in his own voice. In a 2025 Americana Highways interview\, Deitch explained that he began performing because he wanted songs that had not found another singer to reach listeners. Rather than assembling another collection of songwriting demos\, he spent roughly a year making Legacy\, returning to the studio a few days at a time to shape the sound around each song’s message. \nThe details behind his writing can be as recognizable as the songs themselves. “Better Things\,” a song about moving beyond heartbreak\, started with his wife’s request that he take out the trash. His joking response supplied the idea\, and the song was finished in less than two hours. The trash\, he recounts on his website\, was still waiting. “Truck Stop Souvenirs” began with roadside signs spotted on an Iowa-to-Nashville drive and developed into a story about a father’s love. \nFor listeners who enjoy country and Americana built around words and characters\, the Commons offers a chance to hear the writer behind the recordings in an intimate setting. The evening also makes room for conversation before the music: an optional potluck and social hour begins at 6 p.m.\, and guests participating in the meal are invited to bring a dish to share. \nThe concert is open to all ages\, with a suggested donation of $20–30. Seats may be reserved through Eventbrite\, including an option to reserve online and donate cash at the concert. \nPresented by Crossroads Cultural Connections\, this concert continues the organization’s mission of bringing meaningful\, high-quality live music experiences to Henry County and surrounding communities. \nReservations: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/robert-deitch-bishop-hill-il-tickets-1992648573524\nArtist information: https://www.robertdeitchmusic.com/

SUMMARY:Lewis Knudsen
DESCRIPTION:November 6 listening-room concert puts a Quad Cities songwriter’s original work in the spotlight  \nLewis Knudsen writes and records in the basement of his church in the Quad Cities\, but his songs have traveled well beyond the neighborhood. The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist\, whose work has appeared in film and television\, will perform Friday\, November 6\, 2026\, at Bishop Hill Creative Commons\, 309 N. Bishop Hill Street. The concert begins at 7 p.m.\, following an optional 6 p.m. potluck and social hour. \nKnudsen’s career brings together the close observation of a songwriter and the practical versatility of a working musician. He writes\, performs\, and produces music full time\, moving across genres rather than building his catalog around a single style. His influences include James Taylor\, Randy Newman\, Ben Folds\, and Tom Waits\, a range of songwriters with distinctly different approaches to melody\, character\, and storytelling. \nThat range has found audiences in unexpected places. His song “I Need To Get Free” appeared in the Hallmark film Love\, Fall & Order\, while “All My Sins” was featured on FOX’s UFC Road to the Octagon. In a 2020 interview with QuadCities.com\, he described adapting his writing to specific assignments and exploring commercial composition as live performance shut down during the pandemic. The Bishop Hill concert offers a more direct encounter with that work: hearing songs from the person who wrote them\, with time to listen beyond a brief soundtrack appearance. \nKnudsen has also made a practice of finishing songs and putting them into the world. In 2018\, he wrote and released a new song each week while touring in the Midwest. His catalog includes the album 2018\, along with recordings such as Philip and Joy Pain Love Songs. A recent live video\, “Jobs I Worked\,” takes listeners into his church-basement workspace for a preview of his music. \nHis own story includes studying theology\, teaching English in South Korea for two years\, and meeting his wife while playing music at a coffee shop. Those everyday connections are an apt introduction to an evening built around discovering an artist close to home. The Commons’ intimate setting gives listeners a chance to make his original music the focus of the night. \nGuests are welcome to come early for food and conversation and should bring a dish to share if joining the optional potluck. The concert is open to all ages\, with a suggested donation of $20–30. Reservations are available through Eventbrite. \nPresented by Crossroads Cultural Connections\, this concert continues the organization’s mission of bringing meaningful\, high-quality live music experiences to Henry County and surrounding communities. \nReservations: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/lewis-knudsen-bishop-hill-il-tickets-1999704313432\nArtist information: https://lewisknudsen.com/

SUMMARY:The OK Factor
DESCRIPTION:Violin-and-cello duo invites listeners into more than a decade of musical conversation on November 8  \nA violin and cello can suggest a formal recital\, but The OK Factor approaches the pairing with the freedom of folk musicians and the curiosity of composers. Cellist Olivia Diercks and violinist Karla Peters will bring their original music and arrangements to Bishop Hill Creative Commons\, 309 N. Bishop Hill Street\, on Sunday\, November 8\, 2026. Music begins at 7 p.m.\, with an optional potluck and social hour at 6 p.m. \nThe Minneapolis-based duo combines classical training with folk-inspired writing\, creating music that moves beyond a single genre. After more than a decade of composing\, performing\, and touring together\, Diercks and Peters have developed a partnership in which the exchange between the instruments is central to the experience. The Commons’ intimate setting offers listeners an opportunity to follow that conversation closely\, watching the musicians respond to each other as well as hearing the interplay of their parts. \nTheir current work includes A Way Forward\, a new album with Swedish quintet Jaerv that grows from a nearly decade-long collaboration and tours on both sides of the Atlantic. The November 8 Bishop Hill performance features The OK Factor duo. Their musical exploration has earned a 2020 American Scandinavian Foundation fellowship in Scandinavian folk arts and cultural traditions and a Minnesota State Arts Board Arts Education Grant for the 2024 school year. \nEducation is a substantial part of what Diercks and Peters do. Through ATLAS\, their initiative for student musicians\, they encourage curiosity\, creative choices\, and a willingness to venture beyond familiar musical paths. Their community work has brought music into libraries\, senior living settings\, hospitals\, and other places where a traditional concert hall may be out of reach. That interest in meeting people through music also informs the way they introduce their compositions and share the experiences behind them onstage. \nFor local string players and music students\, the concert is a chance to encounter different possibilities for familiar instruments. For listeners without a musical background\, it is simply an invitation to hear two collaborators at work\, with no knowledge of classical music required. Folk audiences and chamber-music listeners can approach the same evening from different directions and discover common ground. \nGuests joining the optional potluck are invited to bring a dish to share. The meal and social hour offer time to meet other concertgoers before settling in for the performance. The all-ages concert has a suggested donation of $20–30\, and reservations are available through Eventbrite. \nPresented by Crossroads Cultural Connections\, this concert continues the organization’s mission of bringing meaningful\, high-quality live music experiences to Henry County and surrounding communities. \nReservations: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-ok-factor-bishop-hill-il-tickets-1999679806130\nArtist information: https://www.theokfactor.com/ \nContact:\nJohn Taylor\njohn.r.taylor@gmail.com\n(309) 299-4999
