DESCRIPTION:Grammy-winning artist and two-time IBMA “Fiddle Player of the Year” Bronwyn and her band will bring her powerful blend of Americana\, bluegrass and roots music to Ca d’Zan House Concerts in Cambridge on Thursday\, August 6. Presented by Crossroads Cultural Connections\, the all-ages concert will begin at 7 p.m.\, following an optional community potluck dinner at 6 p.m. Stone & Snow will open the show. \nKnown for her extraordinary fiddle playing\, commanding stage presence and growing voice as a songwriter\, Bronwyn has emerged as one of the most exciting artists in Americana and bluegrass. Her third album\, Rattlin’ Bones\, finds her stepping boldly into new creative territory\, pairing her instrumental mastery with original songs built for the energy of a live band. \nAfter first showcasing her fiddle prowess on her instrumental debut\, Fiddler’s Pastime\, and later introducing listeners to her singing on I Built A World\, Bronwyn’s newest work reveals an artist embracing the full range of her talents. Backed by a band of top Nashville pickers\, her performances are filled with rollicking melodies\, tight arrangements and the electrifying chemistry of musicians deeply connected to the music. \nBronwyn’s recent work follows her time with Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway\, where she toured and performed as part of one of the most celebrated groups in modern bluegrass and Americana. Since then\, she has stepped into the spotlight as a front person\, songwriter and bandleader\, bringing together the fire of bluegrass\, the storytelling of roots music and the confidence of a seasoned performer. \nHer album Rattlin’ Bones was co-produced by Bronwyn and Brent Truitt of The SteelDrivers and features an impressive cast of Music City musicians\, including Jerry Douglas\, Bryan Sutton\, Dennis Crouch\, Wes Corbett\, Miles Miller\, Dominick Leslie and others. The result is a sound designed to be played loud\, performed live and felt deeply. \nOpening the evening will be Stone & Snow\, the Cincinnati-based Americana duo of songwriters Karen Bridges and Clint Thomson. Twice named among the “best of” entries in the NPR Tiny Desk Contest\, Stone & Snow is known for close harmonies\, thoughtful lyrics and a genre-bending sound rooted in emotional honesty. \nTheir 2023 album\, Delicate and Wild\, was recorded with Grammy-nominated producer David Mayfield and continues the duo’s tradition of heartfelt songwriting and rich musical collaboration. Bridges and Thomson are also active champions for women in music\, supporting other artists through live performances\, mentorship and community engagement. \nGuests are invited to arrive at 6 p.m. for the optional potluck dinner and may bring a dish to share. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.
