P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization), was founded on January 21, 1869, by seven students at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Today, P.E.O. has grown from that tiny membership to almost a quarter of a million members in chapters in the United States and Canada. The P.E.O. The Galva Foundation for Educational Enrichment (GalFEE) is a community-based organization designed to solicit, receive and disperse funds to compliment and enhance educational and extracurricular programs for all students in the Galva School District and to strengthen the relationship between the Galva Schools and the community.

The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, war-time veterans organization, devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is a not-for-profit community-service organization which now numbers nearly 3 million members, men and women, in nearly 15,000 American Legion posts worldwide.

The women of The American Legion Auxiliary educate children, organize community events, and help our nation's veterans through legislative action and volunteerism.

Junior Auxiliary membership for girls under the age of 18 is a training ground which prepares young women for active adult membership in The American Legion Auxiliary.

The American Legion Riders was formed to participate in parades and other ceremonies that are in keeping with the Aims and Purposes of the American Legion.
