As of the year 2000 census, the population of Galva was 2,758, split fairly evenly between male and female residents with females outnumbering males by a total of 156. The median age of Galvans is 39.2. Young adults (defined here as those between the ages of 20 and 45) make up approximately 31% of the total population (854 by count).
